I've been super busy getting everything ready for my move to Manila, Philippines. Mostly, I've had to do a lot of reading on living there as an American-born citizen.

Frankly, it's a bit overwhelming. There are so many forms I have to fill out and requirements I have to meet just to apply for a visa.

And that doesn't even guarantee I'll get approved!

But even with all of that, I'm extremely excited about this new direction my life is taking me.

Especially, now that I have my official departure date, starting from Denver, Colorado — July 11, 2017!

For my initial visit, I have up to 30 days to stay in the Philippines visa-free. I've been looking into all the different places I can go on my first trip outside.

And that gets me REALLY excited!!

Easy access to major destinations I've wanted to see my entire life are a major reason I wanted to call Manila my new home.

Just a few quick searches for flights from Manila gave me some pretty incredible results! And I'm only a month and a half out. They say the best time to find international flights for Southeast Asia/South Pacific is almost 11 months before departure!

Anyway, I found a flight to Hanoi, Vietnam for US$66, one to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for $58, one to Tokyo, Japan (easily one of my all-time favorite places) for $112, one to Jakarta, Indonesia for $77, and another one to Bali, Indonesia for $131!
